Hello! My name is Laura Garcia, and I’m a student at University of Arizona studying Child and Family Studies. I am currently enrolled in CFS 394 – Practicum, a course focused on preparing me to teach. I’ve been granted a remarkable opportunity to travel to Santiago, Chile for 13 days next June to complete my practicum hours while serving children from families recovering from domestic violence.

This international experience will provide me with hands-on learning, enhance my cultural awareness, and develop professional skills that I can bring back to my community. This is especially important as I pursue my goal of becoming a bilingual teacher for preschool through third grade.
