Recent ICE raids in Oakwood and Riverbank have instilled fear and uncertainty in the immigrant communities in our area. The City Council of the Oakwood Community Alliance, comprising approximately 14 local organizations, understands that for these families, acquiring food, basic essentials, medicine, and other necessities has become a daunting risk.

To address this, we are raising funds to assist various nonprofits in our community that are working tirelessly to meet these urgent needs. This includes local churches in Riverbank providing food and support, community food pantries delivering supplies to families too afraid to go out, and other organizations dedicated to caring for immigrants during these challenging times.

Do you need to belong to a religious group to help? Absolutely not. We recognize that many individuals in our community wish to contribute positively during these troubling times, regardless of their faith background. This is a tangible and effective way for you to make a difference, and we believe it is part of our shared responsibility to ensure that those in need feel supported, cared for, and able to thrive in our diverse and multicultural Minnesota.
