Hello, my name is Sophia.

Currently, I find myself temporarily homeless in Arizona, having relocated from Georgia with less than five dollars to my name. I didn’t arrive here thoughtlessly; I came here in obedience to a higher calling. Only by the grace of God am I here today, and I truly believe He provides for my needs every day.

At this moment, I am enrolled in cosmetology school and working towards my license. While I wholeheartedly trust God, I am also taking responsibility and reaching out for help during this time. What I need most right now is stable housing for the next eight months, so I can concentrate, stay safe, and finish what I’ve started.

Any donations I receive will go directly toward:

  • Securing stable housing (hotel stays or an apartment)
  • Keeping my phone active for school, work, and safety
  • Public transportation (I currently have a student discount)
  • Food, basic necessities, and school-related expenses
  • Saving for the first month’s rent and a security deposit

There have been nights where I’ve slept outside, in parks, or gone without sleep altogether. I share this not to elicit pity, but to be honest. Stability would change everything for me right now.

I am also the founder of a beauty and hair brand called Crowning Glory. This brand is dedicated to helping young girls and women restore their dignity and confidence. My long-term vision is to create safe housing and resources for mothers and women experiencing homelessness, helping them transition off the streets and into stability. I share this while navigating my own temporary homelessness.

Growing up, I faced housing instability from the age of seven, often moving between homes. In sixth grade, my mother and I were finally blessed with a one-bedroom apartment. That stability guided me through middle school and high school, showing me how transformative consistent housing can be.

Before coming to Arizona, I faced challenges that sought to limit my growth, including attempts to place me in a mental health facility again. I was involuntarily hospitalized for a month in 2024. I walk in forgiveness and love towards all involved, but this is now a season for focus, healing, and progress.

I am no longer working a traditional 9-to-5 job; I believe God has released me from that phase and is calling me to build, create, and serve in a greater capacity. I identify as a multi-talented entrepreneur, student, and visionary in progress.

If you choose to donate, please know your kindness is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this page means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me during this transitional season.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Sophia
