Help Rebuild Our Sanctuary for Birds of Prey
Author: Samuel
Wild Wings Sanctuary has always been a haven for healing, education, and compassion. Located in Pine Ridge, Montana, this raptor refuge is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and protecting injured birds of prey while educating the public through ambassador birds who share their incredible stories. Each aviary, perch, and feathered resident here reflects the love and stewardship we owe to our natural world.
When I began volunteering at Wild Wings Sanctuary, I simply wanted to lend a hand. What I didn’t anticipate was the deep connection I would form—with the birds, the mission, and the remarkable people who devote their lives to this cause. These birds are not just displays; they are educators, survivors, and living examples of resilience. Being close to them transforms your perspective.
In late january 2026, that sanctuary faced unimaginable change.
A sudden and fierce windstorm swept through the region with gusts reaching 75 miles per hour. In just a few hours, multiple aviaries were destroyed. Structures that took years of dedication to build were shattered. Several educational birds were injured, and, heartbreaking, some were lost. For those of us who know these birds as friends, the loss is incredibly painful.
Now, Wild Wings Sanctuary is confronted with the monumental task of rebuilding—restoring safe habitats, repairing infrastructure, and continuing to care for the birds who survived. This urgent work cannot wait and cannot be undertaken alone.
Your support will directly aid in reconstructing aviaries, replacing essential materials, and ensuring that these magnificent birds have safe spaces to heal and educate once more. By contributing, you are protecting a mission that holds significance not just for our community but for the wild world we all cherish.
Thank you for standing with us during this critical time. Together, we can restore what was lost and honor the lives that depend on our sanctuary.
