Just a few months ago, Max’s story was very different. Found abandoned and injured on the streets, he was scared, underweight, and suffering from a severe leg injury that made every step painful. Rescuers believe he may have been hit by a car or neglected for far too long. When he arrived at the shelter, he cowered in the corner, unsure if humans could be kind.

But with patience, care, and love, Max transformed. He’s now the affectionate giant you see here—loyal, playful, and always ready for a hug that melts your heart. He’s learned to trust again and dreams of a forever home where he can protect and love his family unconditionally.

Unfortunately, Max’s recovery isn’t over yet. His injury requires expensive surgery to repair damaged ligaments, followed by physical therapy and medications to ensure he can run and play without pain. The total cost is estimated at $4,500:
