I first became interested in the student exchange program through the Rotary Club when I spotted a flyer during my freshman year. My family and I attended an informational meeting, where we learned more about the program and its opportunities. However, I discovered I was too young to apply and would have to wait until my sophomore year.

The following year, we went to another Rotary Club meeting, and I decided to apply. After undergoing several interviews, I’m thrilled to announce that I have been selected as an outbound exchange student for the year 2026! I won’t know my destination until March, and I can hardly wait!

Studying abroad is incredibly important to me because I want to immerse myself in a new culture, face challenges head-on, and grow both personally and independently. I’m excited to discover different customs and traditions, learn a new language, and adapt to new environments while developing into a global citizen.

This opportunity means the world to me as it will allow me to step outside my comfort zone, uncover new aspects of myself, and forge friendships with people from diverse backgrounds. I want to experience life beyond the United States and expand my horizons.

I look forward to trying mouthwatering local dishes, exploring remarkable landmarks, and uncovering hidden gems along the way—all while creating unforgettable memories.

I believe these experiences will help me become a better person and leader. The Rotary Youth Exchange program is dedicated to “building peace one young person at a time.” I hope to foster peace and understanding as a global citizen within my own community.
