Our beloved niece, Elara, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve after a sudden and heartbreaking fall at home.

Elara, who lived with severe developmental and physical challenges due to her rare genetic disorder, Rett syndrome, brought an extraordinary light into the lives of everyone she met. Despite being nonverbal and needing constant care, her bright eyes and joyful giggles were infectious—she had a way of making strangers smile and melting the hearts of those closest to her. She was truly adored by her family, friends, caregivers, and even the nurses and therapists who supported her over the years.

Her devoted parents poured endless love, energy, and advocacy into giving Elara the best life possible for nearly 18 years, navigating countless medical appointments, therapies, and challenges with unwavering strength. Because of the nature of her condition, securing life insurance was never an option, and now they face the overwhelming and unexpected funeral expenses here in the New York area, where costs can be extraordinarily high.
