Four essential steps for your Aidinmotion fundraiser

Updated

Whether you’re just starting out or your fundraiser is already live, Aidinmotion is here to support you. We’ve seen the most successful Aidinmotion fundraisers follow these proven steps. If your campaign slows down, you can also explore our blog for tips on how to regain momentum.

Below are the most important actions to take throughout your fundraising journey:

  • Share your story in 1–3 meaningful paragraphs

  • Promote your fundraiser as soon as it’s ready, across multiple channels and more than once

  • Post your first update within one week

  • Set up bank transfers early

You’ll also find a downloadable checklist at the end of this article to help you stay organized.

Create your content

To get people involved, you need to both inform and inspire. Remember, you can edit your fundraiser details at any point during your campaign.

Tell your story

  • Write openly and sincerely about why you’re fundraising, using 1–3 paragraphs.

  • In your title and opening lines, clearly explain who the fundraiser is for, why help is needed, and the impact donations will have. A reader should quickly understand the who, what, when, where, and why.

  • Be transparent about how the funds will be used. For example: “Funds will be transferred to my bank account and used immediately to cover rental car expenses.”

  • Use Aidinmotion’s Enhance story feature to receive suggestions that help strengthen your message.

Choose your main image

  • Select a clear, eye-catching photo that encourages people to support your cause.

  • Images of people often resonate more strongly than pictures of objects or text.

  • Adding a video or extra photos can further boost engagement and donations.

Share early—and often

Once your content is ready, begin sharing right away. Reach potential supporters where they already are by posting in multiple places and repeating your message over time. Always include your fundraiser link.

Start with your closest supporters

  • Reach out personally to friends, family, and neighbors through texts, emails, or phone calls. Ask them to be the first to donate and share your fundraiser.

  • Early support helps build momentum and encourages others to give.

Use social media to spread the word

Social platforms are powerful tools for reaching a wide audience. Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn are great places to start—especially where you’re already active.

If you don’t use social media, consider asking a few friends who do to share the fundraiser on your behalf.

Fundraise with co-organizers

Fundraising is often more effective as a team. Aidinmotion allows you to add co-organizers who can help promote the campaign, post updates, and thank donors using their own accounts.

Stay connected with your donors

Your supporters want to hear from you. Keep them engaged by posting updates—ideally within the first week—and continuing to share progress throughout the campaign.

Post updates regularly

Posting updates often leads to additional donations. Updates appear on your fundraiser page, are emailed to donors, and can also be shared on your social media if you choose.

Mix things up by sharing different types of updates every few days or weekly.

Send thank-you messages

Show appreciation by sending thoughtful thank-you notes to your donors. You can do this directly from your Aidinmotion dashboard.

You can also kindly ask donors to continue sharing your fundraiser.

Set up bank transfers

Adding your bank details ensures funds can be transferred to you or your beneficiary as quickly as possible.

Add your bank information

  • Your details are used by our payment partner to verify your identity, so they must match your government-issued ID exactly.

  • Bank transfers must be set up and verified before the refund deadline listed in your Aidinmotion account. Verification may take a few days.

Add a beneficiary

If you’re raising money for someone else, adding them as a beneficiary allows funds to be transferred directly and privately to their own bank account.

Including a beneficiary early also builds donor trust by clearly showing where the money will go.
