We are a group of ten graduate nursing students who have been selected for a medical mission trip to Kenya in May 2026. Our mission is to provide community outreach, essential medical care, and health education to underserved communities in Nairobi and nearby areas. For many families in these regions, access to healthcare is limited. Our goal is to bring supplies, support, and evidence-based care directly to them.

This mission is sponsored by our program and involves partnering with local organizations on site. During our time there, we will engage in community outreach days, cultural education, and health promotion activities. We will support populations with needs that include basic wound care, medication education, creating Tippy Taps for hygiene, and teaching chronic illness prevention. Every student will be directly involved in the planning, preparation, outreach, and follow-up for the trip.

The expected cost for each student is $1,400 for program fees, plus approximately $700 for airfare. This total covers lodging, meals, transportation, community outreach materials, and other logistical support. Travel insurance and required vaccinations will also need to be paid out of pocket. For ten students, this total becomes a substantial financial burden while we balance clinical rotations, coursework, and living expenses.

We are fundraising to reduce the cost of participation for each student and to purchase the medical supplies we will bring with us. Donations will go directly toward:

• Program fees
• Airfare
• Travel insurance and required vaccines
• First aid materials
• Basic medications and wound care items
• Educational resources for health teaching
• Blood pressure cuffs, glucometer strips, and other essential tools
