This is Rex right now. He’s lying on the cold clinic floor, head resting against the tile, those big brown eyes looking up with a mixture of exhaustion, confusion, and quiet trust.

Just two weeks ago, Rex was running through fields, tail high, the picture of a strong, happy German Shepherd. Then came the accident — a car that didn’t see him in time. Multiple fractures, internal bruising, and a shattered hind leg that required emergency surgery.

The first 48 hours were critical. The vets weren’t sure he would make it through the night. But Rex fought. Hard.

Now he’s in recovery — but recovery for a big, active dog like Rex isn’t cheap or quick.

He’s facing:

  • 2 more surgeries (one already done, pins & plates in his leg)
  • 8–12 weeks of strict crate rest & physiotherapy
  • Pain medication, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories
  • X-rays every 2 weeks to monitor bone healing
  • Special hydrotherapy sessions to rebuild muscle without stressing the repairs

The bill so far has climbed past what his family could ever prepare for. They’re working people — not people with emergency funds of thousands sitting around. They’ve already put everything they had into giving Rex this chance… and they’re still short.

Every donation — even the smallest — goes directly to:

  • Remaining surgery & hospital fees
  • Weeks of medication & follow-up care
  • The physiotherapy that will (hopefully) let Rex walk normally again instead of limping for life

This boy still wags the tip of his tail when he sees his favorite person walk in the room. He still tries to lift his head when he hears the treat bag. He hasn’t given up on us… we can’t give up on him.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, if you’ve ever seen that look — the one that says “I’m trying so hard to be okay for you” — then you know exactly what Rex is doing right now.

Please help us give him the future he deserves. A future with walks again. Chasing balls. Leaning against his people’s legs like the 90-pound lap dog he thinks he is.

Even $5 / $10 / $20 makes a real difference when many people give.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts — and from Rex’s very tired, very brave heart too. 🧡
